If you received an error message that we were unable to reach the fax recipient, this usually means that the receiving fax machine was busy, did not answer, or did not transmit the appropriate tone for FaxBurner to identify it as a fax line.
If this happens to you, please perform the following steps:
- Confirm you have entered the correct fax number.
- Dial the # from a regular phone to see if it's busy or has a fax tone.
- If the line is busy, wait a few minutes and try again.
- If there is not a fax tone, the number may be invalid.
There are some cases where FaxBurner cannot communicate with a fax machine. Though we take every endeavor to ensure that you have an outstanding experience with FaxBurner, some external factors that are beyond our control can impact your ability to send faxes to certain numbers.
Some of these factors (such as the line and fax equipment being used by your fax recipients and their phone service provider’s network) can occasionally get in the way.
